Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) on Monday with wind power producer, Mytrah Energy Limited. The agreement is set to provide MSEDCL with 100 MW of wind power for a period of 20 years.

The agreement is said to have come at a time when MSEDCL is in the process of meeting its Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) targets by 2025. The state government has set a target of 10,000 MW of renewable energy generation capacity by 2021. The PPA with Mytrah Energy is one of the many steps taken by MSEDCL to achieve that target.
